Signage Logos
For usage only on:
Exterior signage, out of home (OOH) advertising, large interior spaces and digital screens/scalas. Not applicable to exterior and interior doors, interior spaces such as lobbies and reception areas.
The goal is to maximize the size of the wordmark (Stony Brook Medicine) for both vertical and horizontal sign orientations. If space allows, use the alternative logo approach.
Allow at least 1-inch minimum space around the logo. Scale art proportionately as a whole. Do not scale shields and word marks independently.
Stony Brook Medicine
For all Stony Brook hospitals except Stony Brook Children's:
- The preferred logo is full color. When deciding orientation, choose one that best fills the space while allowing the wordmark to be as large as possible.
- Logo may only be scaled proportionately as a whole. Logomark (shield) and wordmark should never be sized or moved independently of one another.
- Allow at least 1-inch minimum clear space from the edge.
- Always include white behind the logomark so the star and rays are white, except when featuring a 1-color white logo.
- We prefer the inverted logo to be used on dark backgrounds.

Signage Fonts
The typography palette below has been selected to establish and maintain consistency among the various signage treatments throughout all Stony Brook Medicine and Stony Brook Children’s locations. Trade Gothic LT Std is the only font family to use within approved signage templates created within the Stony Brook Medicine Marketing and Communications Department. Trade Gothic LT Std is to be solely used when applying practice names and hospital-based outpatient care sites to templates.
In order to work on a signage project for Stony Brook Medicine, all vendors must be a pre-approved vendor and obtain the fonts listed below.
