Formatting

  • Ensure you are using the most updated version of Outlook.
  • If you are on a PC, access Outlook in a web browser to ensure format consistency.
  • If you are on a Mac, formatting should not be a concern in the Outlook desktop application.
  • Stony Brook Medicine Marketing and Communications advises against including images in these evites due to accessibility and IT-related concerns. For more information about this, please reach out to carley.weinstein@stonybrookmedicine.edu.
  • If you still wish to use an image in an evite, please be sure to:
    • Place the image underneath the headline.
    • Include alt text with your image. (e.g. Group of people wearing red and holding a sign that says Go Red Day)
    • Because Outlook sometimes strips the alt text from an image, you must also include your alt text underneath your image. This copy underneath your image should make clear you are describing the photo. (e.g. Photo of group of people wearing red and holding a sign that says Go Red Day)
    • Upload clear, web-ready images for email (under 1MB). Large, high-resolution files can slow down delivery and may not display properly.
    • Scale the image appropriately to align with the existing format of the evite.
